Bayfield is a community of approximately 2300 residents that sits at an elevation of about 6900 feet, in the beautiful Pine River Valley, with spectacular vistas in all directions.
Bayfield is located in southwest Colorado in La Plata County.

There are a number of housing options in Bayfield area.
In town, there are homes built from the early 1900’s to brand new on lots generally under ¼ acre. Once you leave the city limits, the lot sizes typically range from ¼ acre to 35 acres. The land to the south of Bayfield is generally flat; with a lot of farms and ranches, some of the properties have irrigation water rights. The area to the north has more rolling topography, and some hillside lots. About ½ of the area is forested land; some parcels are adjacent to BLM and National Forest land.
